Hi Ned,

Have had a healthy an happy 75 gal Tropheus tank since April after I purchased my Moliro's from your shop.

They have been breeding like crazy, are beautiful, and I couldn't be happier with them. In the last week however, I noticed a condition on about 4 fish. One in particular is developing a cotton like growth on part of its eye and other have it on their fins.

I tried an anti-fungal medication last week. I followed the directions and ran an extra treatment just in case. The stuff was called Anti-Fungus. It seemed to work a little, but it appears the cotton is coming back.

From reading online it appears Maracyn 1, or Pimfix is also worth trying.

Q: Do you have any other medication suggestions?
Q: Should I dose the whole tank, or should I seperate the affected fish in a hospital tank?

I will try to post some pictures tonight if that helps.

do a really big water change
and stir up the gravel real good to get the dirt out

use 2.2 teaspoons of instant ocean or any other sodium chrloride per gallon of water

if the fungus cure medicine seemed to be helping go ahead and dose it again

don't use carbon in the filters, just foam blocks

So if I am reading this right, I need 165 teaspoons of salt for 75 gallons? Temp is currently at 78, should I raise the temperature to 80 degrees?

That seems like a whole lot of salt. In the past the most I have ever used is 6 teaspoons per 10 gallons cause I think that is what doc wellfish was back when i used the stuff.

Well, I guess it is time to go get more salt.
Thanks Ned.
