Hello all, i have two tanks (30 & 40) and have the Marineland bio-wheel in both and have been fine. I just picked up a hand me down 55 and i will make it saltwater. If i used a canister filter like a Fluval 405, it sounds like i would still be stuck with the heater and protein skimmer in the tank ? Is this what makes a sump a better idea?

well
I like sumps for lots of reasons
I like the increased volume and gas exchange
and yes
its a neat place to put your heater & skimmer
