Dear Ned,
I am thinking about using one of the tanks that I have hanging around to start a small cichlid tank. I have 2 questions.

Which tank would be better the 20 H or a 37 gal hex. I know that the 20 has a larger surface area, but did not know if that off set the extra gallons with the hex.

Also, could you suggest some stocking ideas for tanks that size. Thank you for your help.

EITHER IS FINE. BOTH ARE SMALL TANKS.

MALAWI CICHLIDS WILL ONLY BE HAPPY IN THERE FOR 3 MONTHS.

MANY TYPES OF TANGANYIKAN DWARF CICHLIDS COULD LIVE THERE THEIR WHOLE LIFE.
IN STOCK ARE 4 TYPES OF SHELLDWELLERS, SEVERAL OTHER LAMPROLOGUS, 1 TYPE OF JULIE,
1 TELMATOCHROMIS...SYNO PETRICOLA CATS WOULD GO GOOD TOO.
ALSO 3 TYPES OF CYPRICHROMIS, WHICH WOULD BE GREAT BECAUSE YOUR TANKS ARE TALL AND THEY SWIM MID AND TOP.

MANY SOUTH AMERICAN TRUE DWARFS ALSO...IN STOCK ARE
AGASSIZI, CHECKERBOARD CICHLIDS, AND NANACARA.

WEST AFRICANS COULD GO IN ALSO...IN STOCK ARE
2 TYPES OF BUFFALO HEADS
