What are the symptoms of malawi bloat (beside loss of appetite)? Anything visible?
Is it contagious?
How quickly can the disease spread and/or kill a fish?

What are the symptoms of malawi bloat (beside loss of appetite)? Anything visible?They actually "bloat" like a ballon.
Is it contagious? Well, it's an indication that something is wrong...
yes...not all the cichlids in the tank will necesarily get bloat, but something needs fixing.
How quickly can the disease spread and/or kill a fish? Takes about a week to kill, yes it can spread...but usually when conditions are improved it stops spreading.
9 times out of 10, it is BAD food and/or BAD water.
