Hello all, i have two tanks (30 & 40) and have the Marineland bio-wheel in both and have been fine. I just picked up a hand me down 55 and i will make it saltwater. If i used a canister filter like a Fluval 405, it sounds like i would still be stuck with the heater and protein skimmer in the tan...

I have a few tanks setup all with bio wheel hangons. I was just given a 55 today and would like to go with a sump underneath. I have a spare 5 gallon tank. Can i use this and whats the general idea. Can i have a filter, skimmer, and heater all in the 5 gallon below?

Thanks for reply. I am the guy who recently had his anenome stuck in the filter. Long story short, he eventualy went to marine heaven. I was curious about the "Host" deal since i wanted to purchase another anenome. It probably was the one you mentioned, the Haitan, because i remember it be...

Hello again, I have a Percula Clown from Neds, and a few months later i added a (pink tip?) anenome, but they never "hung out". Have i learned that a clown and host anenome must be purchased together as a couple? If so, can i do this if i already have one Percula Clown?
Thankls

My pink tipped anenome was injured about 2 months ago when he got into the strainer of my filter. I took the strainer off and placed it on the bottom and he came out. He was never the same though, much smaller when inflated. Now for the last 48 hours, my Chocalate Chip star is completely on top of h...

Ok, i am looking at the proclear 150 wet/dry, looks like the protein skimmer is built right in? Then i add an inline heater going back to the tank? I assume these must have some kind of safetys so i cant pump out 110 gallons on the floor? How do you define reef and fish only? I would like to have li...

Thanks Ned, any brands and models you reccomend. This will give me a chance to do my homework. I think the sump goes in the cabinet and the pump is in there? I remember looking underneath the big bow front in your corals room.

I will soon be purchasing a 110 gallon from Uncle Neds. It will be marine, and i wondered if there is a unanimous choice for filter setup. I will go with the wooden stand and canopy, and would like to keep as much out of sight as possible. I loved the simplicity of my Penguin hangons on my smaller t...

In fact, i now assume the line on my Marineland thermometer must have been a preset, i had it a quarter turn past the line to the + side. Maybe i will lose less water too ? It seemed i was adding a gallon twice a week.

Thank you for fast reply! I will go turn down the heat maybe a quarter turn? I figured i needed a bigger cleaning crew, my crabs seem quite hardy, but i lost 3 out of 5 snails.

Warmer water less oxygen, got it.

I would like to build an above ground koi pond in the spring, 12' x 6' x 3' deep. With proper setup, equipment (De-icer) and maintanance, do the Koi stay in the pond all winter or do they get moved indoors? I have a 60 salt and 40 fresh in the house and would like to give a pond a shot.
Thanks
