The color of the kerri is really interesting but so are the fins of the palmeri. Either of these would be really nice and will be going in a tank with a couple of GBR (I think I have 2 females, not sure) and a pair of apisto cacs. "Really rare" sounds expensive and is most likely out of my price range but the good thing is I like the first two better. Was looking at the red coral pencil fish, but not really what I want to spend. They are beautiful, though. The kerri and palmeri are more in line with the budget so hopefully you'll be able to get some of these in. thanks

Just my $.02: If your tank gets any direct sunlight, go for the kerri. They are stunning in that light and worth it for even a short time each day. Bonus: If you've got a reasonably well-planted tank, you will eventually start seeing a few small kerris. I don't know how the eggs and fry survive, but in my tanks they seem to elude dwarf cichlids, catfish, tetras, rasboras, live bearers, etc - all of the sudden a few start venturing out with impunity.

Thanks for your input. I'll certainly consider the kerri if Ned gets both in. No direct sunlight on this tank but that blue color is interesting all the same. While I'm not concerned with breeding given that there are apistos and rams in the tank, it's always exciting if it happens. I have rummys in another tank with an angel (used to have a pair but lost the female) and I know I brought home only 7 of them a couple of years ago. There are 9 of them now so looks like some breeding succeeded here too.

Ned sold me some black emperors perhaps 6 or 7 years ago (2m, 4f), haven't seen them since, but they bred in my tank and I still have about a dozen of them. Very handsome fish. Sometimes referred to as N. Amphiloxus, its colors (or lack thereof) are very different from the others, and I always wondered if it was a different species. http://www.aquariumspeed.com/page/artic ... d-diet-r54

I suggest you try to get a few spawns out of your black emperors I thought they were a sport of Palmeri interesting they might be their own species they are VERY rare

Hoping the kerris do arrive. If so, I'll be in later during the week, maybe next weekend. I'd like them settled a few days before I bring any home. From researching, these might be better for me than the regular emperor as they seem to be a little smaller. The tank is only a 20 long and I'll be looking for 6 of them. Most sites say 20 long would be fine, although some (other) forum members caution against it. I'm used to overstocking a bit anyway, so I want to try these. IF they don't come in, I plan to wait until you can get them, rather than substitute. Speaking of overstocking, can I bring some more baby BN plecos in next weekend too? They're still not as big as I know you'd like them, but there's now a second batch of smaller ones and I still have several from the first batch, which is what I would be bringing. And those black emperors are stunning!

Let me echo the desire for the black emperor tetras. Had some from the batch you got many years ago, but had to give that tank away during a move. Would love to have them again.
