Hey guys,
About a month ago I bought two tadpoles for my fishtank which worked out very well. They were compatible with my fish and that was really cool. It was outstanding getting to watch them mature into frogs....
The frogs at this point are about 1.5 inches long, and will probably grow a bit more.

But now, I am not sure about a couple frog-keeping aspects.
I have a 25 gallon aquarium setup with a couple rocks in it.

How many inches of water should I put in there?

Also, should I put enough to submerge a heater horizontally...and is it safe to do that without a danger of it coming out and cracking or the frogs burning themselves on it?

What is good for food?

If you have any other frog-keeping tips please send them along...

Thanks a ton,
Max

the frogs you have are from the USA
and do not need a heater ... 68 degrees F is fine...

we sell crickets $1.52 per dozen
or feeder fish $1.52 - $1.90 per dozen

that will be fine to feed them

or you can catch your own insects or earthworms

they do not need to eat every day

you do want to change the water often
and or filter the water

we sell small submersible filters that would work well in shallow water

Will they eat Brine shrimp or shrimp pellets as well(they enjoyed shrimp pellets as tadpoles)?

I think I will be in sometime soon so I'll talk to you then...

Thanks,
Max

Generally frogs will not key on food unless it is moving. I've never seen one that would eat prepared food. Tadpoles of course don't care if their food moves.
