| from my sister Jane: ____________________ Hello everyone, As you may know, many years ago Caroline asked me to write her epitaph – she was also supposed to write mine, but neither of us thought we would have to do it this soon. Just after she was diagnosed, and the day before she left us, she reminded me of my promise and I assured her I would keep it. I haven’t been able to do it until now, but the inspiration I got from listening to those who helped save lives in Boston on Monday reminded me so much of Cal and the kind help she would have provided if she was here that I suddenly knew what to say. I am not sure what her family's plans for a memorial stone are, but I wrote a letter to her mother and sent it with the epitaph, so if her family chooses to use my sentiments they have it. No matter whether they use it, I think what I wrote captures the story of who Cal was, so I have fulfilled my promise, and as you are among the people that cared the most about her, I thought you might like to read it as well.
