And by these i meant what you have listed as "Speckle-tailed" loach. www.loaches.com species index should give a good comparison. |

my fish are younger than your fish in that photo mine have the same dark caudal area their bodys are a lighter grey the tail of mine are yellow not orange the dorsal is also yellow both the dorsal and tail fins have the the small black spots had them about a week they are very peaceful so far ...they are in with some Lamprologus similis shelldwellers |

Hey Mike, I just had a look at them - pretty sure they are caudipunctata: Bullet silver, ill defined spot/blotch on caudal peduncle, clear to yellow/orange fins with peppering of speckles... unless there is a closer fish to the images of caudipunctata you linked to than the splendida than this is a batch of caudi's. That "indistinct saddle" behind the dorsal fin is visible on most of them too... I guess that clinches the ID -Sam |
