Hi

I have a 30g freshwater tank. My nitrates are currently at 40ppm. What is the safest way to reduce these nitrate levels to a more acceptable level? Are there any products I could place in my filter that would be ok to reduce nitrates or is that a bad way to reduce nitrates :?:

Thanks
John

40 ppm of nitrates
is absolutely nothing to worry about
in a 40 gallon freshwater tank.

Maybe get some plants, plants love nitrates.

Just do a minimum water change
of 30% per month,
twice or 3 times a month is better.
