I am about to upgrade my 10 gallon tank to a 28 gallon bowfront planted tank and I am slightly overwhelmed. Can you reccomend a good book, website or general informtion as to how to get started.

In my 10 gallon tank I have a striped raphiel "talking catfish" and will soon have a couple ghost catfish.
Rapheal Cats happen to eat small snails...
very large Rahael cats may eat small sleeping tetras like cardinals
I love the look of angel fish and Discus.
28 gallons is too small for a permanent home for Discus in my opinion
What lighting do I use?
I suggest about 2 watts per gallon
so a double bulb high output t5 would be good
2x24 watt we can sell you a good one for $95
Substrate?
we like natural gravel size 0, 1, or 2... $15 for 50 pounds
if you want you can add Laterite clay, $10-$20
Reccomended plants?
we have so many to choose from
I can let you know which are the easiest
species lists are at

Fish?
well
for a 28 gallon
anything that doesn't get too big
and won't eat plants (so no silver dollar tetras, no trinidad plecos)
get LOTS of scavengers
Oto cats eat diatom algae
SAE's and Amano shrimp eat black brush algae
I live in Leominster Ma and would like to take a ride out to visit the facility.
guessing it's about an hour
Rtw 495 South
Rte 109 East towards Medway
we are about 6.5 miles on the right
