Hi Everyone,

The AKA convention is coming up fast. As we previously discussed, we will
meet on Wednesday, May 27 to distribute the fish that Tony Terceira and Dave
Hardenbrook bring back from the convention for us. We will meet at Jimmy
Chang's restaurant, the Hunan Kitchen, 779 South Main St #7, Bellinghamm, MA
02019. The phone number is 508-883-2088. Is 7:30 PM too early for everyone
to make it? I'll be getting there early to have dinner before the meeting.

Format will be a silent auction, same as our other auctions. I'll try to
get a list of the fish that Tony and Dave bring back out to everyone. If
you are not going to be able to make it, send your bids in with someone who
can make it. Since I expect Tony & Dave to bring back many pairs of fish, I
would suggest that we suspend the meeting dues of a pair of fish at this
meeting. I believe that a partial list of fish expected to be at the
convention is online in the convention information, so if you see something
on teh list you really want, let Dave or Tony know.

Best wishes,
Rich

Hello SNEKA members

The third meeting of SNEKA was held Wednesday, May 27th at the Hunan
Kitchen. The primary purpose of this meeting was the distribution of
the fish brought back form the 2009 AKA Convention by Tony T. and Dave
H.

They also brought back two other very important items: show plaques
for SNEKA member entered show fish. Congratulations go to Bill Logue
for 3rd place with an E chaprti and 1st place with a A ogoense GHP
80-24 (a total of four fish of this strain were in the show). Tony
Pinto is also to be congratulated for his 3rd place entry of A
australe BSWG 97/24 and a 2nd place entry of A australe Gold.

The business portion of the meeting was conducted prior to the fish
auction, where Like C. was the big spender of the evening for a
beautiful and scarce F avachang. Besides the great conversations and
food, the significant points of the meeting are as follows:

* SNEKA will seek to become an associate member of the AKA. Tony T.
will facilitate this effort. One requirement of this status is that
all members of SNEKA must be members of the AKA.

* SNEKA LOGO - All members are encouraged to design and present a LOGO
design at the next meeting. A group discussion will determine the
'official' SNEKA LOGO to be used, presumably, for the production of
club apparel.

* Meeting Dues were established as follows: Each member shall bring to
the meeting one of the following 1)a bag of Killifish, 2) a fish
related item or 3) $5. Although not discussed, I am not sure if the
fish have to be killifish.

* Next Meeting will be in July at the home of John Haddad. This will
be a weekend meeting with a picnic theme, The date and details will be
established ASAP.

* The September meeting will be at the Summer home if Bill Logue on
Cape Cod which will feature a collecting trip to local water sources.
Details will be published at a later data.

* Auction - Sale of 20 or so bags of AKA fish netted approximately
$548. The club brought approximately $320 to the convention (over
spent by $9), so we are still in the Black and thus do not qualify for
a bail out. The long range plans for clubs dues and profits are to buy
more fish from important clubs like WAKO and to rent a meeting
facility to host more guests and provide speakers.

Best regards,

Dave

[Ned's note: this was kinda fun]
