In the store when it happens (it happens alot!)
we dip the fish in freshwater
same pH 8.2+
same temperature 75 degrees F
for 1 minute then put him back in the tank

it is also sometimes helpful to use a UV sterilizer
and do a large water change

also when the fish first arrive we dip them in high pH fresh water

we never use copper
