Koi should be fed low protein food such as Wheat Germ formulas when temps are steadily above 55 degrees F. in the pond...
I do not recommend feeding KOI at all below 51 degree water temp...
switch to high Protein or Color enhancing formulas when Pond temp is steadily above 65 degrees F.

Goldfish are true coldwater fish...
if your pond has goldfish only
you can feed low protein foods at about 45 degrees F. water temperature,
then color enhancers or high protein above 55 degrees.
