Post subject: | Sump setup for 55 gallon |
I have a few tanks setup all with bio wheel hangons. I was just given a 55 today and would like to go with a sump underneath. I have a spare 5 gallon tank. Can i use this and whats the general idea. Can i have a filter, skimmer, and heater all in the 5 gallon below? |

the 5 gallon is too small to do anything in... I'd gaet at least a 10 gallon...if not a 15 or 20 or even bigger... you also need an overflow box and pump which are in stock here |

Just TheFishGuy's 2 cents............I would probably just go with a canister filter for a 55. To move that amount of water, a canister would be your best bet. The overflow box is going to take up a bunch of room in a 12 inch wide tank, and the 55 is also rather shallow for the overflow box. Ned's has a large selection of canister filters in stock. The new Eheim filters work GREAT!!! They get TheFishGuy's 2 thumbs up. -TheFishGuy |
