Hi,

I have a 15 gallon planted aquarium with one male and two female Apistogramma cacatuoides. I also have four otos and 2 sterbai corys. And a whole bunch of ram's horn snails.

I (unfortunately) did not purchase my male and first female cockatoo from you. The male is now about 2 inches long. He is showing a definite deformation with his tail curving rather sharply to the left.

A little research suggests that this is from poor breeding. Are deformations in apistos common?

On the plus side, I bought a uaru from you guys for my larger aquarium to go with my jurupari. He is spectacular!

TIA.

might be natural

might be diet

It would help if you feed a lot of shrimp-type animals
mysis, brine, cyclop-eeze

(according to Rosario Lacorte,
shrimp shell is a similar material to fish fin spines)
