Funny little story...

I was just taking apart my canister filter to remove the carbon (see post "ICH alert". I am used to finding snails in the canister as my clown loaches can't exactly get them in there... however, this time I saw something move a little too fast for a snail!

A baby platy was in the canister! It is probably about 3/4 inches long, much too big to have fit in at that size. I am amazed that it a. survived the trip, and b. survived in there! I put it in the tank and it seems the the extra space is a bit scary to it. I guess solitary will do that to a fish!

Most of the babies hang out in the java moss but this opne must have ventured out. Oops. The others its size (in the tank) are months old so I suspect it has been in there a while.
