Looking for suggestions/recommendations on what to feed my 2+" frontosas. I hear good things about New Life Spectrum Cichlid formula....also is there any truth to the theory that blood worms, frozen or freeze dried, are actually bad for frontosa? I look forward to any and all response. Thanks.

If they live alone (not with algae grazing cichlids)
feed they smashed frozen silversides, along with spirulina flake
and they will grow very fast

Just wanted to add my 2cents about bloodworms.I am also allergic to them.I've read a large percentage of people(30% plus) have some type of allergy to them.Like an idiot,I still use them occasionaly.Last night,I disposed of 2 old freezerburned packs of them. They were the cube type that have to be popped out individualy. Not wanting them stinking up the trash,I decided to pop them out frozen into the sink. Before I popped out the last cubes,my hands had swollen so bad I could barely close my thumb.
I was scratching like crazy and had to take some allergy meds.
The other problem with them is fish tend to gourge themselves on the worms.I've seen an Angelfish die soon after gourging itself on the worms.I'm sure many 'sudden' fish deaths are caused by them.
However, bloodworms are a good conditioning food for spawning fish when used sparingly.I'm done with them.

Probably against all logic, but OSI cichlid flake and an occasional live brine shrimp or chopped beef heart treat works for my Burundi's.

I'd actually advise against feeding cichlids beef heart. It's a VERY poor food and can shorten their lives (So I've read).
