Would a 55 gallon be big enough for cichlids.

My last question is what would you put inside a all Malawi tank please be specific since this is my first tank and am still learning. Is real plants worth putting in, like Java ferns?
not really real plants, Mbuna eventually eat them

way back when i was a wee tad i got a 55 gallon tank for Cichlids. That tank was good for about 6 months until I realized I needed a bigger tank. If you have the room I would strongly recommend going with the 75. it is only 6 inches wider and the length is the same.
