Hi Ned i have a ? . Should i schedule my water changes by time or by water quality? Ive always changed 30% every 2-3 weeks. I was just about to do a water change but i have no ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate and my ph is 7.4. I do over filter my tanks ( 10g- accuclear 200, whisper 15, and sponge) Are there other chemicals i dont test for that are harmful. I dont mind doing water changes, so i guess i need some more fish-see you soon.
thanks ned

the main reason to do a regular partial water change is to remove NitrAte,
which is produced by the good filter bacteria that destroys NirIte.
also
frequent water changes help the fish grow
