So I've recently gotten into cichlids after years of hearing about them from my best friend. I have a small 30 gallon tank going with a mish mosh of very young cichlids (less than a year old). I currently have two white calvus, three blue face brichardi, one lamp. tretocephalus and two phenochilus placidochromis tanzania. I've also got a yoyo loach in there to help control snails and I've tried to keep a bristlenose in there, but so far someone in the tank has killed all three of them, so I stopped trying. I have Ammano shrimp now instead, which don't seem to get eaten (strangely enough).

I'll be moving back to CA soon and plan on moving them into the 55 gallon tank I have set up there. How long do I have before I'll have to upsize my tank since the placidochromis tanzania get really big? Everything I've read states I'll need at least a 75 gallon.
