Hi, I have a 6 inch Goldsaum who was given to me along with his way too small 20 gal tank. I have come across a 55 gal for cheap and I'm trying to think of possible tank mates for this rather agressive fish. Any suggestions?

this is going to be a little tough....

large south & central american cichlids
are extremely intolerant of other mature cichlids

you might try some medium Mbuna (Malawi cichlids)
they would be too fast for him to catch
& too small to pose a threat to his dominance

maybe also add some piles of rocks or other decorations
that the mbuna can fit through
but the Green Terror can't follow them through

just make sure your pH is 7.4 or higher,
this will keep good color on the Mbuna
(and actually, the Terror comes from west of the Andes,
pH is naturally higher than the Amazon region east of the Andes)

You could possibly try some very large non-cichlids
such as silver dollars & tinfoil barbs

I also have on sale a big Red devil, but it sounds like they wouldn't work & play well together

What about putting in a female around his size? If so, would you be able to get one?
