Hi there,

I seem to be having a problem keeping my plecos alive. I bought a teeny bristle nose, and he ended up dissapearing after a few days. I bought a bigger one this past Sunday, was maybe an inch and a half or so...and I found him ripped apart when I got home this afternoon. I have a handful of pearl danios, a yoyo loach, a couple of siamese algae eaters, two blue rams, a white calvus and two kerri tetras.

I would still like to have a pleco in the tank...but should I be looking for a bigger one, or maybe something with tougher skin? Or is there something else entirely that you would recommend for eating brown algae.

Thanks!

I'm surprised you're having a problem...
maybe a clown pleco or a widemouth pleco
(both are in stock)
they're a little bigger and do have a tougher skin probably

yoyo loach slightly suspect for aggression
white calvus slightly suspect for aggression

2-3" $8 ea

Your sure that's the whole list of suspects?
Everything you mentioned is usually mellow.

Oh, and two killies both small (one from the tank with the kribs, and the other is a small misc. one)...but that's it...which is why I can't understand why I've lost both plecos.

Thanks for the info, I'll pop in Saturday to pick up another one. :P
