I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 red severums that I got from your factory in february. They are very beautiful fish but is 55 suitable for them? How can you sex them apart? I once had the 55 as an african cichlid tank and I have to admit, I really miss those guys. I once traded-in before, but would you also accept an amazon puffer? Rainbow shark? Sun Catfish? Keyhole cichlid?
I also have another question, I don't think its legal to sell alligator snapping turtles in massachussetts, but if true. Interested in me selling you one? He is just a baby, but he caught and killed a silver dollar that was with him, that was bigger than him! Thanks for your time!

I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 red severums that I got from your factory in february. They are very beautiful fish but is 55 suitable for them? YES BUT THEY CAN GET HUGE.

How can you sex them apart? SEVERUMS ARE HARD TO SEX...MALES USUALLY HAVE A BIGGER BODY AREA ABOVE THEY ANAL FIN, FEMALES USUALLY HAVE A SMALLER BELLY AREA.

I once had the 55 as an african cichlid tank and I have to admit, I really miss those guys. I once traded-in before, but would you also accept an amazon puffer? Rainbow shark? Sun Catfish? Keyhole cichlid? SURE, THE ONLY THING I WON'T TAKE ARE PACUS AND OSCARS.
BY THE WAY, RAINBOW SHARKS AND SUN CATS SHOULD LIVE FINE WITH MALAWI CICHLIDS.

I also have another question, I don't think its legal to sell alligator snapping turtles in massachussetts, but if true. Interested in me selling you one? WE DON'T SELL REPTILES, BUT WE SOMETIMES HAVE RED EAR SLIDERS FOR DISPLAY ONLY, SO I COULDN'T USE IT.
He is just a baby, but he caught and killed a silver dollar that was with him, that was bigger than him! IF YOU WANT TO FIND HIM A GOOD HOME, TRY
THE NEW ENGLAND HERP SOCIETY
OR A REPTILE STORE.
THERE'S REGAL REPTILES IN PROVIDENCE, RI
OR N.E.R.D. IN PLAISTOW, NH.
OR BOSTON TROPICALS IN CAMBRIDGE, MA (IF CHUCK'S STILL IN BUSINESS)
Thanks for your time! NOT A PROBLEM.

Amazon Puffers are freshwater. So are Indian Pea Puffers and most dwarf puffers. (Should have no or very low salt in water, pH 6.5-8.2)

Green spotted puffers & Figure eight puffers
are brackish. (Should be in at least pH 7.2 ...freshwater, brackish, or salt water.)

will they get along with community fish? like gouramis and plecos etc?
Ive had puffers in the past, but they tended to be very agressive, including attacking a 4 inch severum and a giraffe catfish.
In addition, will yours be fine in a 55 gallon? I might be interested in buying it.
thanks for your time and the help,
max

in the first post, it said, "I once traded-in before, but would you also accept an amazon puffer? Rainbow shark? Sun Catfish? Keyhole cichlid?" and you agreed to take it. Sorry for the confusion, but if you do get it as a trade in, how much would it be?
thanks

I'd have to see it first...
there's like 200 something tanks in the store,
we sometimes get very busy,
and nobody tells me anything.
I don't think there's one here.

When amazon puffers come in
they are very cheap
but I usually raise the price
to cover the massive ammounts of deads.
