but wondering if you know about the substrates that claim to maintain the higher PH required for these fish. My current tanks seem to run about 7.5.
7.5 is adequate, 8.0+ is better
Do you think something like the Eco Complete Chiclid sand
I haven't tried the eco complete, but dolomite, crushed coral and dolomite work well
would raise the PH enough and keep it there indefiniteley? Would it require replacing after a period of time?
dolomite stops buffering after 6 years or less, crushed coral stops buffering after 8 years or less
My interest is in the Neolamprologus multifasciatus . Have you carried this fish?
we have Similis in stock now , which is almost the same as Multifasciatus but the stripes are slightly wider ... $18 each
