Hi Ned,
I have a community tank with rainbows, giant danios, cardinal tetras, cherry barb, and a female krib. I was considering getting her a male to pair up. I know this will lead to mating. I have a 30G Hex with a cave and was thinking about getting another cave or a cichlid rock. I was hoping most of the other fish will stay up top and the kribs can have the bottom. Am I a fool for considering this and I'll have World War III in the tank? Also, if any of the babies survive will the Kribs end up fighting amoungst themselves? Unfortunately, I don't have another tank to put the pair in and I can't invest in one at this time. I'd love some input from anyone.

well
I don't know
is the short answer

we have lots of male kribs
if you want to try it

they can be very defensive of their young

it's always a good idea to have a spare tank when keeping any kind of cichlid

I wouldn't do that in a 30G tank. My pair bred in a 100G tank terrifying all other fish including triple-size angels. They took about half-tank for their needs :) They even bit my hand!

I appreciate the feedback. :)

My tank's PH is at 7.0. I was thinking of picking up a ram, keyhole, and a Caudopunctatus (Had purchased one from you before and did great, although they pref higher ph. Until I had an issue when away for a week this summer). I'm probably going to put another cave in and add some plants first. Should these fish do ok together in this environment? I'm love to add some cichlids but keep a 7.0 community.

I currently have rainbows, giant danios, cardinal tetras, cherry barb, and a female krib.

Also, any male milleniums or peacock gobies in stock?

Thanks! I'm not well versed with cichlids. Should the fish I inquired about cohabitate well :?:
