NIA-neters -
This is to remind everyone that NIA will be meeting again this year at the ASIH meeting
in Providence RI July 7 - 12, 2010.
We will have two NIA paper sessions, one Saturday July 10 and another Monday July 12.
Best student presentations will again be awarded.
We will also have business/social meeting on Saturday at 6 PM in Room 556 AB of the convention center.
AV equipment will be available here if anyone would like to present any material. See you there. -Jonathan

The winner of the best oral presentation by a student in the NIA session
at the 2010 Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists in
Providence Rhode Island was Riviane Gracez of the Universidade de Sao Paulo for her presentation titled, Phylogenetic Relationships of the Cynodontidae (Teleostei, Characiformes) based on Mitochondrial and Nuclear Sequences.

The best poster presented by a student was presented by Mickey Dehn of Towson University for her work titled, Ever Eat a Palm Tree? Growth, Histology and Digestive Physiology of a Wood Eating Catfish, Panaque nigrolineatus.

The judges this year were Christina Cox Fernandes, Hernan Lopez-Fernandez and Mark Sabaj.

We thank the following NIA members who donated funds for the cash
awards for the Best Student Presentations.
