Hi Everyone,

Tony has received the fish from Gary Greenwood and suggested that we
call this meeting the "Stock up for Winter" meeting. He has received
around 20 pairs of fish. They include some relatively easy fish such
as Fp. scheeli, A. striatium Lambarene, and A. bivittatum Funge,
through the more difficult A. wachtersi. A. mimbon and A.
bochtleri. We have 2 pairs of each species so this is a good chance
for us to get some of these species established in the New England
region or add to the gene pool if you already have some of these
fish. So empty out some fish tanks and bring your wallets! Since
we have so many fish to auction, you don't need to bring a pair of
fish and we will waive dues for the meetiing (save your $$ for the auction)

Plans are as follows:

Anyone who wants to go collecting will meet at 9:00 AM Saturday on
Surf Drive in Falmouth at Oyster Pond. We have a seine, which pretty
much guarantees that we will catch some stuff. If we are really
lucky we might catch some strays brought in by the gulf stream. The
could include seahorses, pipefish, juvenile triggerfish, boxfish,
butterflyfish, filefish or lookdowns. We should also be able to
catch native fish such as Funduls heteroclitus, Fundulus majalis,
Cyprinodon variegatus, sticklebacks, and so forth. If you have a
net, bring it. Otherwise wear shorts or swimming trunks, old
sneakers, waders or water shoes, and bring a towel.

If you don't want to go collecting but still want to attend the SNEKA
meeting, we will meet back at Bill's house at around 2:00. His
address is 3 Capt Berry Ln in Dennisport MA. It is exit 9A off Rt. 6
(Rt 134 south. At third set of lights, take left onto Upper County
Rd. Follow until hit stop sign (Catholic Church on right) go straight
and take next left at Telegraph Rd. Follow for 3/10s of a mile, Capt
Berry on left, 1st house on left, corner house. Bill notes that
Sagamore bridge under repair and suggests crossing over Bourne bridge
then taking Canal Rd. up to Rt. 6. We will have a cookout with
burgers & dogs. I would ask everyone to bring their own beverages
and something to share such as chips, dessert, etc.

Please let me know if you are planning on attending so we can get
enough food to feed everyone.

In addition the big fish auction, we will be voting on the logo, so
bring your ideas. We will also be discussing arrangements for NEW.

My cell phone is 774-219-4388. If you have trouble finding us
Saturday morning try giving me a call, but I won't be wearing the
phone when I am in the water!

See you Saturday,
Rich
