Make this mix at home to put size on your large piscivores and omnivores. I feed it every other day, alternating with a good cichlid pellet.

In a blender or food processor:

*1lb Uncooked shrimp. You can use whole, unpeeled, or whatever.
*1lb Frozen Peas, thawed. Do not use canned peas.
*2tbs Spirulina powder. I usually buy tablets and crush them really fine, but if you can find powder that's great.
*10 drops liquid bird vitamins
*(other people also add gelatin as a binder....I never do)

Puree, freeze, and feed. You can feed frozen, thawed, or partially thawed. This food can create a mess in your water so try to feed appropriately sized frozen chunks for best results.

Freezing techniques:
1) you can buy mini-ice-cube trays. Slather in the puree and freeze. keep inside a plastic bag to prevent the food from drying out in the freezer or burning.
2) my method: fill a ziplok bag about half full of puree. flatten it out to about 1/2" thickness (or thinner for small fish) and squeeze all the air out of the bag. Seal, freeze, and break off chunks to feed.

Here is a picture of the puree and next to it a ziplok bag ready for the freezer.
