What are good starter fish to get the bacteria level up and for how long should I wait to get more expensive fish?
Its for a 29 gallon tank. Its brand new.

Almost any inexpensive fish are good starters.
I would suggest Danios or Tetras.
Get a couple Corydoras catfish also.
You want about 8 fish total to start a 29 gallon.
Ask for a bag of good filter bacteria also.
Wait about 7 days, test the water, and add more fish if the water is good.
