my 72 bow front was nice and clear for several months after set up.
then I brought a couple of pecocks in and maybe, just a very little bit of water from another tank. then I had green algae which was quickly taken care of with one dose of algae fix, for about a week .now for the past month it's green again I have been through a bunch of algae fix,I have done a half water change then added ammo lock for the ammonia spike. still very, very green. PLEASE HELP!!

It's just algae. Unless it toxic, it just doesn't look all that nice. Use an algae pad or scraper. There isn't really a need for chemicals. I think they usually do more harm than good.

Take it for what it's worth....absolutely nothing.

Is the water column itself green? The pea-soup look? Is it possible that the tank is getting alot of sun? Maybe all of a sudden with the change in seasons. It's a too common problem with planted aquaria when ferts and light get out of whack, but if the tank is your typical moderate light and big fish set up than I would look into the underlying problem? Lots of light? Nutrients in tapwater (P)? Phosphate-laden pH buffers?

If it were my tank, I'd do a big ol' waterchange, lights off, and toss a blanket over the tank for 4 days or so. See if that helps. There are other methods if it comes back... nutrient control (phosguard, etc.), UV sterilizer, and diatom filters, but unless this tank is high in light and nutrient on purpose it makes sense to figure out the problem... not just treat the symptom.

Goodluck!

if the water is green
a UV sterilizer will always work (aprox $160)

we have had great (and SAFE!) success with Kent Pro-Clear (aprox $16)

i ran into same problem w/29 gal. tank.like abigail said -the
problem is light, nutrients or both.this tank was planted w/java
fern, java lace and anubias.40 watts ,some indirect sunlight in
the afternoon.to get to the root of the problem,i left the lights off
for a few days,then cut back to 4-6 hours a day.also i made sure
curtains were closed in afternoon to block sun.feedings were cut
back to light-once a day.i did daily water changes of at least 25
percent vacuming gravel each time.water sprite and hornwort
were added to absorb excess nutrients.also i added poly-filter
media to the power filter.with time and patience this fixed the
problem.
i continued to make sure i didnt overfeed, fish load not too heavy
and weekly water change.also, plants will compete with algae for
nutrients.i keep this tank heavily planted.
