Hey Ned,

I purchased an A. Aureum from you sometime back in August. Currently it is in a 30 gal. tank with 2 cory cats, 1 pleco and 1 striped raph cat. I've recently purchased a 75 gal and plan on moving the Aureum into that. Are there any tankmates you'd reccomend?

nice pic
nice fish

if you want him to live with other cichlids
this would be the time...
add a whole bunch at once so he won't get territorial on the new ones

among others that should work
buffalo heads
eartheaters
cichlasoma cutteri
kribensis maybe
severums
red jewels

larger non-cichlids
barbs
danios
rainbows

cats
plecos

basically anything he can't swallow

Thanks for such a quick reply

I'm very interested in the eartheaters and severums. How many would you suggest for a 75 gallon without overstocking it?

I was also in the store last week and was checking out the Psittacus you had there. Would that be a possibly for a tankmate?

Psittacus gets HUGE , 14 - 20", hoping to sell it to some1 with a 180 or 215g with other giant fish

How many fish would you recommend to introduce at first to fix territorial issues? Should I completely stock the tank right away or start with a few and then periodically add more?

Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions, I just want to make sure I know all I can so there's no issues down the line.

thanks in advance

-Kevin

when keeping ANY kind of cichlids
it s always best to have at LEAST 1 extra tank
.. bullys always will need to be seperated
