I have a 72g heavily planted & driftwooded tank with cardinals, rummys, and 5 apistogramma cacatuoides (2 males, 3 females). Not a good idea to add a couple of angels? Or would they be OK?

the only problem with the fish mix you mention is that
eventually the
Angels will be 8" tall
...at that point they can eat your cardinal tetras

hmmm! ok then. I did have one angel in there for 8 years, before i got the apistos. he didn't eat the rummys. but he never quite got that big.

funny thing, most of the cards are so big & fat! one is at least 1.5" long. they are bigger than any i've ever seen.

angels eat amanos, too???

I have not had any problems because the heavy planting keeps all the little guys safe. I keep brass tetras and caucatoides - even fry do just fine among the plants.
I wouldn't recommend it in a sparsely planted tank.
