We bought a Beta a couple weeks ago with another fish (I don't remember the name of the other fish but it was a black one). Within a week the black one was dead. I believe the Beta killed it. We just this week bought an algae eater and put him in there with the Beta and I caught the Beta attacking it as well. I've temporarily removed the Beta till we figure out what to do. My husband really wants to keep the Beta but we would like to have one or two more fish in there as well. We have a 10 gal. tank and my question is .......... Is the Beta attacking because we are only putting in one at a time? My husband said he read somewhere that if you introduce a few fish into the tank with a beta that he may attack at first but then give it up and live "happily" with the others. My daughter wants an angel fish but I'm scared to put one in with the Beta. What should we do?
Thanks,
Angie

I would put the Betta in a bowl
(they can breathe air)

and put whatever other fish you want
in the tank with the pump

just leave your betta
in his bowl
and change his water once a week with the fish tank water
