I got these from one of my local guys here in Ct . They didnt know what they were but the price was right so I picked them up. I was thinking they are some type of whip tail or lizard cat. Another person I deal with seems to think they are Juvinile Royal Farrowalla. Can anyone give me a positive ID or another really good guess

Ok... here's my attempt...

I think that you have Loricariinae sp. 1, otherwise known as LG6 or LG4. It is an un-named genus of loricid that turned up in the hobby from who-knows where and was relatively easily bred. It is often sold as Sturisoma or Sturisomatichthys foerschi, though the name is meaningless and the fish is definitely not a Sturisoma. Sources I've seen generally describe the fishes appearance as somewhere between a Hemiloricaria lizard cat and Sturisoma.

Here are some web resources

- great images, wrong language: http://www.welse.net/SEITEN/lg6.htm
- planet catfish search results:

- planet catfish species page: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... es_id=1772

- The Baensch Catfish Atlas Volume 1 is also a fantastic resource for identifying and keeping loricid catfishes.

You could try posting the images to planet catfish so that some experts can weigh in, but from the info I can gather, you have my vote.
