Do they eat anything else besides natural algae? Like algae wafers, vegetables, or repashy gel?

they do not jump on those foods like they jump on diatom algae
but
I have not lost any

so
they must be eating it when I'm not looking

I also never lose regular farlowellas
they seem to behave the same

Is there anything specific they need in their aquarium? Plants, current, or anything like that?
