We ordered a large batch of wild ancistrus labled ""BLUEFIN" MED ANCISTRUS SP. WHITE SEAM BRAZIL".

These came in in good shape but the group is clearly made up of two or three different species.

The fish that fit the "blue-fin, white seam" description are probably not the extremely popular and hard to find L183 but are very similar. They are midnight black with a scattering of tiny white spots and some have a small white margin to their fins. Similar fish on planet catfish includ L100, L180, and L327. Links below:

I'll try and get some pictures of our fish tonight...
regardless of their exact identities, this is an interesting group of fish and worth a look through.

one trade-in
L183 (from the tank raised batch 23 months ago)

so we have a good sample to compare
