I'm not a fish-keeper, but had to pass this story on, and ask if there was some leg-pulling going on.

A friend received a text message from one of his friends. The text essentially said that the young lady was spending the evening exfoliating her betas with a lufta???? That caused everyone in the room to do a double-take.

Ned, was she joking? Or do people actually do that? How can being out of the water while being scrubbed be good for a fish???

it's a good way to kill a fish

no
one may not scrub one's pet fish

they have essential slime on their skin that protects them
the slime coat should disturbed as little as possible
(no unnecessary netting and handling)
certainly NO scrubbing
