I don't think you can change him

just get rid of him

when keeping any kind of cichlids
it is best to have a seperate aquarium to isolate
either a bully or a victim

Herichthys carpintis can be a tough community fish unless you keep equally aggressive cichlids that are similar size. Even more so if it is the larger of the tankmates.
What do you have in the tank with your Texas?

right now their is a common pleco 2 satanoperca daemons and synodontis angelicus and a African butterfly fish its killed a smaller tiger pleco (L15?) and a bunch of barbs and a few mollies so far its killed everything that was smaller than it but is slowly going after the synodontis. so i was wondering if theres nothing that i can do to change the fish could you would take in the texas and give it to someone that had a large fish aquarium that could handle the aggression of the texas?

How big is it? I might be interested if its big enough, they are my favorite cichlid. I have 5 carpintus & 2 red texas.

I wouldn't have mixed it with those fish, way to aggressive for that tank.
