Hey Ned,

I picked up a front this weekend and she seems to have the "float". I doesn't seem to bad but she is seems to be swimming just to keep herself mid level on the tank (almost swimming downwards motion). The only diagnosis I can come up with is the float that these fronts have from time to time. Is there any way I can get rid of the float? And how can I prevent for the future?

Thanks Again!!

Hey Ned,

I got the illness description "float" from this site:

http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/f ... oating.php

She is in a 55 gal tank with 5 other fronts. She is about 3-4" and the next biggest is about 2" at best and then I have another one at about 1-1.5". The rest of the fronts are at best 1". She is just swimming in one spot and nobody is bothering her at all, fins don't seem to be nipped at, she eats silversides, shrimp pellets, spirila cubes, etc. I don't have picks right now but I can get some. Thanks Again Ned

Sorry bout that Ned

I did 25% water change every three days or so and noticed that this "float" started to go away. I am not sure if it was just a fluke but she is eating like a pig now and being aggressive to the other front that I have in the tank with her. But she is doing fine I appreciate your help and sorry for not getting back to you earlier.
