Ive had my 20 gallon for 10 weeks. And recently i cleaned the filter alittle too much. And my nitrites are spiking big time. And my nitrates are pretty high also. Any suggestions. I need help soon before i find all my fish dead.

well
you could just under-feed for awhile
and do some extra water changes
and
things will go back to normal by themselves

and/or
come down the store
and we'll give you a bag of filter bacteria

remember
you can change water
whenever you want to or need to
...but don't change the filter 'til it is almost clogged
(in most tanks, this means once a month)

when you do clean the filter
use cool or tank-temperature water only (not scalding hot water)
and only clean it enough to free up the gunk
...never blast it spotless

Salt also negates some of the harmful effects of nitrite poisoning. Salt may not work for your fish or for all I know you have a salt water tank... That might work as a band aid until you get things sorted out...
