The Raleigh Aquarium Society (RAS), now in it's fourth decade of operation, invites you to attend our 30th annual Carolina Aquarium Workshop, one of the oldest home aquarium conventions in the country. We offer a series of events, including a native fish collecting trip, a local fishroom tour, a speaker "Meet & Greet", a full day conference hosting six notable personalities in the hobby, a banquet with a dinner talk, and a large auction of aquatic animals, plants, and equipment. Our workshop offers you the unique opportunity to share information, ideas, and enjoyment with like-minded professional and amateur individuals in the home aquarist hobby. Recent workshops have numbered over 250 people from across the globe. Several aquarium shops and vendors will also be there, providing those "hard-to-find" fish, plants, and supplies. Mark your calendars now for a memorable time - we hope you can join us!

Workshop Schedule

Friday, February 13, 2015:

1:00 pm: Native fish collecting trip at 2 local NC Piedmont waterways within a 1 hour drive of Raleigh (carpools meet at Martin Building). RAS will provide permits, nets, seines, and buckets, but bring your own waders/footwear, food/water, towels, dry clothes, and personal equipment (for signups, contact raleighfish@yahoo.com).
7:00 pm: Fishroom tour and speaker "Meet & Greet" at the residence of RAS master breeder Larry Jinks in Wake Forest, NC (for directions, contact raleighaquariumsociety@yahoo.com).

Saturday, February 14, 2015:

8:30am: Workshop Registration, Introductions, and Setup
9:30am: "Working With Live Bearers"; Larry Jinks
10:45am: "Dwarf Cichlids - Cichlid Power in a Small Package" ; Paul Loiselle
12:00pm: Lunch (an assortment of food items is available on the fairgrounds premises)
