2nd Annual Ornamental Fish Health Symposium Set for August on Maine Coast
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By CORAL Editors - Posted on 08 June 2011

Dear Fellow Aquaculture and Aquarium Professionals,

I am very pleased to announce that, due to our overwhelming success last year, we are holding the Second Annual Ornamental Fish Health Symposium again cohosted by the University of New England and New England Aquarium Services.

The venue will again be the University of New England campus and the dates are August 12, 13, and 14. Dr. Ed Noga has agreed to return and lecture on disease diagnosis and treatment of ornamental fish, and he plans to enhance his presentations from last year so that if you attended last year, you will have new things to learn and if this is your first year, you will be lead through the steps.

We are pleased to be able to offer this symposium because we saw the need for an understandable and accessible way to approach fish health. So we are offering you the opportunity to attend this weekend long Symposium and hear experts in the field of ornamental fish health and nutrition. In addition to Dr. Noga, we are pleased to have Dr. Julie Cavin, Bob Fenner, Scott Michael and Dr. Myron Roth and others give talks.

Other highlights of the weekend include a lobster bake and the chance to spend a glorious Maine weekend on the banks of the Saco River and the Atlantic Ocean. Tuition begins at $175.00.

Dorm room and board are very affordable (Check the web site for details). August is a beautiful time to be in Maine and the lobster bake is something you won’t want to miss. SO if you or someone in your lab could benefit from learning about common aquarium fish diseases and what to do to prevent mortalities, I invite you to check out the website or call Rick Oellers at 207-289-7512 or roellers@maine.rr.com with any questions.
