I bought a female pearl gourami about a month ago, and after I brought her home I realized that she has two bumps on her chin. They look a little like pimples, and they're about the same on both sides. She has been eating fine, and otherwise seems perfectly OK. I was wondering if anyone had any idea...

Just an update. After I posted I tried feeding the gouramis freeze-dried bloodworms, and eventually the little guy managed to get one down (meanwhile the female was gorging herself). The next day he was completely better, and is now very colorful. I think the pair may even spawn soon.

Ok.

It'll be several days at least before I can get out there. In the meantime I'll keep and eye on him and see if he gets better.

One of the pearl gouramis I bought on Thursday is eating fine, but the other one gets the food into his mouth, and then spits it back out. I've been watching him, and I don't think he's actually swallowed any food since I brought him home. Otherwise he seems OK. Is this maybe just a stress thing fro...

I have a tank that suffered a run-in with ich that ended about a month ago. I've been a little paranoid since, and watching the tank often. Very occasionally I see one of my fish scratch against either a plant or the gravel. It certainly isn't as frequent as when I've had really sick fish, I'd say f...

I have a pair (male + female) of pearl gouramis. The male has been chasing the female 24/7 ever since they were introduced to my 45g moderately planted tank. She is still eating fine, but she hides all day, and I think the male chases her into the walls of the tank sometimes. I am wondering what I c...

So, I've been treating my fish tank for a couple of weeks now to get rid of a nasty ich outbreak and secondary infections, and I keep having this weird white slime show up. The first time it happened was in my 45 gallon after I started treating with Maracyn II. The water got extremely cloudy for 2-3...

I know Clown Loaches eat snails like it's their job, but will they bother freshwater shrimp? Does size of the shrimp make a difference?

Thanks,

About 2 weeks ago I added 2 pearl gouramis and 2 SAEs to my 45 gallon tank (which had 7 zebra danios, 1 syno cat, and 1 guppy), which I unwisely purchased from a store other than Ned's. After a couple days of sporadic scratching, one of the gouramis showed a couple spots on his head that looked like...
