Ned: Here is the URL for my 30-gallon tank: www.fitchfamily.com/aquarium.html As I mentioned, I am interested in upgrading the tank to either a 36 X 18 X 18 All Glass or a 36 X 18 X 21 Oceanic. I do need to have a cover glass 1) to keep the shrimp in and 2) to protect the 96-watt CF from splashing. ...

Tanganyikan tank, and planning to shoot for a pH of about 8. Good. I plan to use CaribSea African Cichlid Mix as the substrate, and probably in my filter as well. Good. I was wondering what you do there at Uncle Ned's to buffer the water in your cichlid tanks. Our water is highly alkaline right out ...

nothing to complain about

I haven't complained about anything since October.

This is of some concern, it's just not like me.

When business is good I have less time to complain.

I want to thank all my customers and suppliers and employees
and wish everyone happy New Year and happy Holidays.

Our pH in the store is around 7.8 but always stays there. We have had good luck with the "proper pH" products from Aquarium Pharmeceuticals Company. If you are reading 9.0 you might want to check that you are not even higher than that (even cichlids start dying from alkalosis around 11 or ...

the only way to avoid that in the future would to be to have the return above the water level or use a spray bar He thought he was swimming upstream A tiny dead fish in 90 gallons of water shouldn't make a difference as far as ammonia goes it's a good idea to test for ammonia periodically anyway 1 p...

We've sold dozens of Hagen Fluval Underwater Filters. 1plus, 2plus, 3plus, & 4plus. I love these filters. They have 1 instruction. Step one: Plug in. The problem is I have sold almost NO replacement foams. (Not that we're only here to sell stuff.) I'm worried that my customers are going to have ...

Neetroplus Neematopus Ned I see you still have some neets what would you recommend as a tank size for keeping a breeding pair. My guess is I would need to start of with a group and wait until a pair emerges. It's a mean fish. I think the biggest they get is 5" 'tho. Maybe a 29 gallon? I never ...

The african dwarf frogs will only eat very small food,
like,
flafe food, small tetra bits food, frozen brine shrimp, etc.

The albino (or brown) claw Frogs can eat a good size fish, like a guppy, or maybe even bigger fish.

I have white and blue rocks at the bottom of my tank, and the white rocks are starting to rust. That's not rust, it's called diatom algae, it's actually a good thing. We now know you have nitr...
