I do have good numder of Aulonacara species /peacocks in the tank...will they do ok on this diet?? YES Would the diet be the main thing causing the bloat or could there be other factors? sure there could be other factors but...ADD MORE GREENS, FIND OUT see my bloat paper in the "Library" l...

I've seen little flies in our fish room,
I suspect that you just have some food spilled on the hood that the fish cannot eat of course.

In the store usually we feed 90% green flake to the Malawi Mbuna. Our own bulk Spirulina we get from California, Omega 1 Spirulina & Omega 1 Kelp flake, Omega 1 color flake & First Flake, Tetra Spirulina flake, Omega 1 veggie rounds, Wardly, HBH, and Hikari spirulina disks. Occasional tomato...

It's tough to try to sneak new cichlids into a cichlid tank... couple a tricks... don't add just 2 cichlids ...add 6 or 8... take the original fish out of the tank, put'em in a bucket, set up the new cichlids in the tank, redecorate, then put the original cichlids in if you add non-cichlids, like ra...

oooh i'm going to have to make another trip down.
Yellow tail Blue Cray did NOT come in...

But just to ask, these were in the tank as a pair. Do you know for sure if they were male and female?? I don't know, if they were marked as a pair then those were the ones Lea raised.

you don't need a UV...
it wouldn't work on algae any way (only green water phytoplankton)
just buy a pleco or oto cat from Uncle Ned's
