The odor is certainly not Hydrogen Peroxide (I had to google "H2O2") If you mean Hydrogen Sulphide...the answer is maybe. Personally, I prefer to have uncovered tanks .... I call it gas exchange.... unfortunately, many species of fish jump so they need to be covered this is an advantage of...

unplug the equipment on the 30 gallon tank drain the 30 gallon down to about 2-3 inches full slide it stand and all out of the way set up the 55 fill the 55, set up filters, heater, etc. (if your not using the same filter as on the 30 gallon tank, at least transfer the good bacteria from the media o...

what's that purple edge I'm look at... and what is that space I'm seeing?..... if your tank is 30.25 inches x 12.25 inches on the outside molding, your stand needs to be the same dimensions , if not 0.25 inches wider.... that tank weighs 300 pounds full of saltwater ...you want to spread the 300 pou...

Looks great! Put some critters and a couple fish in there! You have enough light for corals, if you want. The Live Rock you bought was already cured, so it sounds like you are good to go. Seeing Diatom (light brown algae) is a great sign. If you come by the store bring some water (maybe 12 oz.) and ...

give your tank a good size water change
and
a real good gravel vacuum also

this will physically remove a good population of the parasites

you almost certainly have parasites....
...bear in mind there are many species of ick...
salt will kill most
but not all freshwater parasites..
COPPER will kill all parasites,
but I usually use it last because
it also kills shrimps & snails

I think I've only found 1 type of freshwater fish that can not take salt...
it is
Tateurndina Ocellicauda ...the Peacock Gudgeon from Northern Australia & New Guinea
