How big is it? I might be interested if its big enough, they are my favorite cichlid. I have 5 carpintus & 2 red texas.

I wouldn't have mixed it with those fish, way to aggressive for that tank.

Herichthys carpintis can be a tough community fish unless you keep equally aggressive cichlids that are similar size. Even more so if it is the larger of the tankmates.
What do you have in the tank with your Texas?

Just wondering if you can get a bolt catfish also called jello band catfish. Aguarunichthys torosus
Im just thinking down the road when I set up a bigger tank, Ive never seen one for sale, probably pricey cause of that.

You use a gravel vac but you have to hover it an inch or so to keep from _ up the sand. Also you want to rake the sand before vacuuming especially under any structure to prevent pockets of ammonia & waste.
