Hi Ned, Do you have the fubendazole in stock? I was actualy thinking of a different name-It's hyphenated, like disc-cure or something.I'm not thinking of the old Aquatronics Co. drug that contained mostly metronidazole in the capsules. This stuff is in a jar...powder and liquid.I't s like 8 percent l...

Its is very difficult to make a diagnosis on external disease/parasites,never mind internal parasites. Most internal parasites show the same symptoms-either a pinched or swollen abdomen, off color, stringy feces(usually white),spitting out food, gagging motions and fish may stop eating. I have bought nu...

One more thing............I doubt very much that in 2 days, parasites
would effect 6 fish that quickly.
You are probably dealing w/some type of bacterial infection.

The swollen abdomen could be caused by several diseases/parasites.In my experience w/internal parasites, the fish usually will have white feces, they may breath heavy and make sudden movements.Left untreated, they will stop eating and a bacterial infection will soon follow. Metronidazole is another med...

I just picked up 6 myself and was reading up on them.In FAMA,or one of those magazines,I did read that their was a smaller(4 inch max.) and a larger (6 inch max.) Petricola. Pretty much everything else I have read states they reach a max. size of 4 inches. Probably are 2 types w/ the smaller one bei...

From what I know, carbon takes a lot of useful minerals out of the water. These minerals are important for fish health and providing nutrients to plants. If my fish happen to breed in one of my soft water tanks,I will add minerals to harden up the water.Minerals are essential for the healthy growth of...

I was in Cambridge and stopped at the fire right after it
was extinguished.Very few reptiles survived.A lot of the fish
were still alive in the tanks that didnt have heavy damage.
The water must have been pretty warm.Shows you how hardy fish
can be.
Very sad Very strange

I would start off doing a few things that will not harm the other fish.Do a larger water change 1/3 plus.Raising the water temperature a little wouldn't hurt.It will increase the fishes metabolism making it more likely to eat. Watch the fish closely for signs of disease both physical and behavioral(...

the last time i tested my tap water, the p.h. was 8.7 and very soft 75ppm or so.i spoke to two diffrent people w/ the mwra about the water.in a nut shell the p.h. and hardness are extreme due to the additives they use to protect the pipes.this can vary some depending on when they treat the water etc....
