It's tough to do Malawi cichlids in a 45 gallon. If you only have 3 fish, it will be impossible. Generally, with Malawi cichlids you get less aggression if you crowd them. Also you get less aggression if you put in 8 or more at a time, and move the rocks around, and put in new water with the new fis...

Before I get to the point, I'm confused about the ahli. Haplochromis ahli are the same as sciaenochromis ahli (?) but different from the sciaenochromis fryeri (electric blue hap) which also seem to be sometimes called haplochromis ahli (??). There was some excitement at the Jaffe pond this past week. My mother called me exclaiming that a Beaver had moved into the pond! Actually, it turned out to be a Muskrat, but still pretty cool. It moved into my waterfall and made a nest out of all my rushes and sedges. It came out in the morning and...

I would remove the cherry shrimp 'til your snail eater has done the job.
(Cherry shrimp can live in a fish bowl.)

Karen Randall suggested Raphael Cats to me, or loaches such as Dario, Lohachata, or Bumese border. She said that Clown loaches would eat the snails but may also eat some plants (I was skeptical on that.) Puffers of course will eat snails, but are nasty to most fish. As far as what I have in stock, t...

Just wondering about the stand , thats a lot of weight on that stand without no center supports . Are you worried about the middl
e bowing down?
Frankly, the stand is JUST good enough.

Does Ned sell those stands?
Yes, they are $500.

Is that one or two return pumps in the sump?
2 returns.

I have a 75 gal freshwater tank that has been set up for about 2 months. The water has a slight haze to it. IS THE HAZE GREEN OR WHITE? The lights are on for about 9 hours/day. DO YOU HAVE 1 40WATT BULB OR 2 40WATT BULBS? DEPENDING ON THE KIND OF FISH, YOU COULD ADD LIVE PLANTS, THAT WOULD USE UP SO...
